Productivity Tips

June 18th, 2009

Some days for me seem much easier than others as an entrepreneur. Days where I can just wake up, get ready, sit down at the desk and just start tearing it up… While others are quite the opposite. I haven’t really quite figured out what it is yet, but I’m starting to draw closer to finding a solution I think.

Small Actionable Goals:

On days when I’m in a slump, these have been critical. I’ll plot out chunks of time, say like 2 hours and just focus on one task. Some days it feels like a chore more than passion, but it’s definitely helped me to focus and get work done. For me time is money, so this is critical to fulfill tasks and stay ahead of the game.

Food and Water:

I’m a pretty healthy eater, being a former bodybuilder and collegiate athlete so I can attest to the importance of a healthy diet. Eating good allows for more energy and focus. Pick foods that are high in proteins, fiber and healthy fats. Vegetables and fruits should be ate every day, with each meal if possible. I also recommend a high quality multi-vitamin and lots of water.

Sleep:

If there is one thing I love, it’s sleep. Unfortunately I don’t get as much sometimes as I’d like to. Getting a minimum of 6 hours of sleep each night will leave you feeling good and rested. 8 hours would be the ideal, but I don’t know to many people who manage to get 8 hours these days, so be sure and try to get at least 6.

Why Factor:

Everyone has a Reason why they want to be successful in life. Some of you may not have figured it out yet, but it’s definitely there. For me it’s because I want to provide for my entire family, give back to charity, help others and live a free and comfortable lifestyle without stress. Determining your “why” factor will greatly improve your efforts, simply because now you know what it is you’re working towards.

Well hopefully these managed to help you out! Don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletter for more tips like these and about making money online.

Facebook Unique URL’s to go in Effect Tonight

June 12th, 2009

Alright the countdown is on. Tonight at 11:01 EDT Facebook will be allowing users to have Unique URL’s as compared to the old profile ID number. i.e. http://www*facebook.com/profile.php?id=199105917 versus now you’ll see http://www*facebook.com/kylehannah (or whatever you/I choose for a username)

I’ll get more to the dirty tricks in a bit, but this is pretty huge for the most part. If you actually remember Myspace, not many do anymore, they had this same setup which was actually quite useful. People used to put their myspace URL on business cards and be able to easily give out their address to friends and family. Facebook hasn’t been quite this easy, that is until tonight of course.

This is sure to create quite a bit of chaos tonight as those who can SEE the potential here will be counting down the seconds to choose their unique username. As for those who can REALLY see some potential, well facebook has already setup some preventive measures against *us.*

Here’s a direct quote from their blog:

If you signed up for a Facebook Page after May 31 or a user profile after today at 3 p.m. EDT, you may not be able to sign up for a username immediately because of steps we’ve taken to prevent abuse or “squatting” on names.

So in other words, no rushing to setup tons of accounts to potentially snag some very unique and appealing usernames. God knows this was the first thing that crossed my mind. What can I say, us marketers just see $$$ all over when something like this comes about. If you don’t see any $$$ coming about then it’s likely you’re just another average web surfer, which of course there is nothing wrong with that.

This is the next major leap for facebook though and is sure to make way for some major viral effect to take place. Be interesting to see what the traffic increase and new accounts created will be.

The Internet to Become a Paid System Within 5 Years

June 11th, 2009

Apparently within the next 5 years, our days of roaming the web freely will be over.

According to Barry Diller, Bigwig CEO of IAC.com, he is certain that free content readily available on the internet will become a thing of the past within the next 5 years. Here’s what he had to say:

“I absolutely believe the Internet is passing from its free days into a paid system. Inevitably, I promise you, it will be paid,” Diller said in a keynote discussion opening up the Advertising 2.0 conference held at his company’s futuristic glass building alongside the Hudson River in Manhattan. “Not every single thing, but anything of value. “

So what does this mean for us? Well in the short, millionaires will be made. Those who can capitalize on this in the early stages, will be set for life no doubt. It also may turn some people off of the internet altogether though. Having to pay for things like facebook, wikipedia and possibly even to use a search engine is likely to leave many looking elsewhere.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

I’m no longer supporting Dominate IM

June 8th, 2009

If you’ve seen the Dominate IM banner I have displayed on my blog below the fold for a long time, you won’t see it displayed here any longer. Certain events have occured and I will no longer be supporting DominateIM.com membership training site.

I’m really not going to get into detail over it here in public, but if you have any direct questions in regards to it or are a current member there and would like my opinion on it, feel free to get in contact with me.

Nothing against the site really, just certain things have come up and I am personally choosing not to support it anymore.
